My Story
As a proud third-generation Skagitonian, I have a deep appreciation for the people, traditions, and values that make Skagit Valley special. The grandson of Dutch immigrants, I was raised with a strong work ethic and commitment to giving back to the community. I graduated from MVHS and Washington State University with a degree in Agriculture Technology and Management. For the past 12 years I've been a broker with Windermere Real Estate in Mount Vernon. My wife Alana and I have been married seven years and are raising our two children while staying active in community service and local leadership.

I care deeply about the future of our community. My roots here have shaped my commitment to public service, responsible leadership, and protecting the quality of life that makes Skagit County such a special place to live.
Throughout my career I have been actively involved in organizations that strengthen our community and support local families. I have served on multiple boards, including Camp Fire Samish and the North Puget Sound Association of Realtors, where I continue to work collaboratively to support community growth, leadership, and service. In addition, I have proudly been a member of Skagit Rotary for the past 10 years, helping give back through volunteerism and local initiatives.
As a P.U.D Commissioner I will bring a strong work ethic, rate transparency, and a practical approach to decision-making. I am committed to ensuring reliable utility services, responsible stewardship of public resources, and thoughtful planning that benefits both current and future generations of Skagit County residents.
